Built a statewide probation information tracking system. Developed a secured
intranet application and database for the criminal justice community.
Probation Case Management Assessment
Assessed the advantages of retaining and enhancing the PROBER PLUS application
vs. building a new application or purchasing a software package. Completed
design phases and a build vs. buy analysis.
BCA
Predatory
Offender Registration System
Identified user requirements, designed and built a new predatory offender
database and annual registration verification system. Includes a secure web
interface for users outside of the BCA and easy access to other State of Minnesota
criminal justice information systems.
CriMNet
Created the logical design of the Integration Backbone for the CriMNet Enterprise
Architecture originally developed by MACRO. This is an initial step on the
critical path for sharing essential criminal justice data between agencies
statewide. We continue to provide project management and support of the CriMNet
Enterprise Architecture during this development.
CRIMINAL AND JUVENILE JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEMS DATA GROUP PROJECTS
Juvenile History
Enhanced the computerized criminal history and automated fingerprinting systems
to provide a statewide database of juvenile criminal history for gross misdemeanor
and felony offenses. Developed and documented a conceptual, logical and business
system design.
Misdemeanor Criminal History
Enhanced the computerized criminal history and automated fingerprinting systems
to include adult and juvenile criminal history for “targeted” misdemeanors.
Developed and documented a conceptual, logical and business system design.
Master Project Implementation Plan
Developed a project plan for implementation of 10 interrelated, cross-agency
MIS projects sponsored by the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information System
Data Group. The plan identified project objectives, status, work plans, interdependencies,
issues and estimated budgets.
Data Policy and Practices
Researched data policy and legal issues related to project requirements to
develop formal recommendations for the statewide criminal justice task force.
Documented research results for executive overview and legislative action.
Electronic Fingerprinting Technology
Identified law enforcement and court requirements for automated fingerprint
capture equipment. Recommended equipment placement and preparation of a Request
for Proposal for equipment acquisition.
DWI Tracking
Developed the conceptual design for an application to track DWI offenses statewide.
Reviewed the design approaches recommended by two separate projects developing
statewide databases for DWI offenses and developed an integrated design approach.
Sentencing
Guidelines Electronic Worksheets
Built an application that allowed probation officers to complete, update,
query and approve the Sentencing Guidelines worksheets online, from locations
across the state. This Internet-based application is part of the Statewide
Supervision System.
